Al-Ijtihād va al-Tajdīd Quarterly (in persian: فصلنامه الاجتهاد و التجدید) is a specialized journal in the Arabic language that focuses on the study and examination of Islamic sciences and contemporary jurisprudence. This journal has been published since 2006 AD. The owner of the journal is Markaz al-Buḥūth al-Mu‘āṣirah fī Beirut. With the aim to bridge the gap between different theological, jurisprudential, and principal (Uṣūlī) schools of thought, this journal examines various issues of Islamic sciences. Based on this, new jurisprudential thoughts, foundations of inference, Quran and hadith studies and theological issues form the central themes of the articles published in this journal. The journal has published works by jurists and researchers such as Ḥaydar Ḥubbullāh, Ṣādiq Āmulī Lārījānī, Muhammad al-Ya‘qūbī, Yūsuf Ṣāni‘ī, Abūlqāsim Ali-dūst, Muhammad Rasūl Āhangarān, Muhammad-Ali ‘Abdullāhī, Abūlqāsim Fanā’ī and some other contemporary Arabic-speaking researchers.
Introduction
The journal al-Ijtihād va al-Tajdīd is a specialized quarterly in the field of Islamic sciences and jurisprudence, which is being published since 2006. The owner of the journal is Markaz al-Buḥūth al-Mu‘āṣira) in Beirut. The manager of the journal is Rabī‘ Suvaydān, and its editor-in-chief is Ḥaydar Ḥubbullāh. The journal has an advisory board (Hayʾat al-Istishāra) whose members are selected from various Islamic countries. The members of this board are: Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri, Mohammad Salīm al-‘Awā, ‘Abd al-Hādī al-Faḍlī (Saudi Arabia), Aḥmad al-Raysūnī (Morocco), and Mohammad Khayrī Qīrbāsh Ughlū (Turkey)[1]. To have an article accepted in this journal, the topics of the articles must align with the journal's objective, which is rethinking jurisprudence and issues related to Islamic sciences. Accordingly, the areas in which this journal accepts articles can be categorized as follows: research related to new jurisprudential thoughts, foundations of inference, theoretical foundations of Islamic sciences, religious studies and interpretive and hadith methodologies[2].
